Leverkusen - Bayer Leverkusen's camp denied reports that mentioned they were interested to repatriate Dimitar Berbatov. They consider the transfer plan Berbatov just mere speculation.
In earlier reports, representatives of Berbatov, Ivan Dobrinov, Leverkusen claimed was trying to get his client. Dobrinov also mentioned already in contact between the sides Werkself and its clients.
Leverkusen chief executive, Wolfgang Holzhauser, confirmed the existence of contacts between his club and Berbatov. However, contact was solely limited to the friendly relations only and there is no talk about the possibility of transfer.
"The transfer of Dimitar Berbatov to the club we are pure speculation and we will not take part in this gossip," explained to Deutsche Presseagentur Holzhauser.
"Everything has been imposed by his agent and it makes me unhappy," he added.
"We still keep in close contact with Dimitar since he left the club, but this is purely on the basis of friendship," said Holzhauser.
Berbatov's future at Manchester United is in the midst of uncertainty. Despite last season's top scorer so the Premier League this season Bulgarian striker is more warm the bench because of competition from Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, and Danny Welbeck.
